Exhibit Unveiled at Leyland
The picture below shows Tom, our manufacturing manager, at the unveiling of a sculpture in Leyland. It is a cast iron casting of a 48” dia spur wheel weighing 1.5 tonne. This casting was supplied by Coupe Foundry to South Ribble Borough Council, for the re-generation of Leyland centre. The casting was used to commemorate the manufacturing history of Leyland in particular, the well-known Leyland trucks, which used to have its own large cast iron foundry on the Farrington site.
The re-generation area was opened by the South Ribble Mayor in November of 2010.
